Reese Witherspoon is saying bye-bye to her home-away-from-home in Ojai, Calif.

The 36-year-old actress placed her massive ranch compound on the market Monday for a whopping $10 million -- almost double the price she reportedly paid for it back in 2008.

Known as the Libbey Ranch, the property was built in 1923 as a horse stable for Ojai's founding father Edward Libbey. Renowned Southern California architect Wallace Neff designed a barn on the property that is now a four-bedroom home, and former owner Kathryn Ireland, interior decorator to the stars, completely overhauled and restored the property before Witherspoon bought it, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In a spread for home design magazine Elle Decor, Witherspoon gushed about the home's "restorative" properties. "The air is fresh, the phone isn't ringing, you can't access e-mail. Time slows down. Within an hour I'm lying on that couch taking a big fat nap," she says in Elle Decor." It's like having a little bit of Tennessee in California."

She also thought that the ranch's environment was a healthy alternative playground for her children Ava, now 13 years old, and Deacon, 8. "It reminds me of growing up in Tennessee, where we spent all day outside ... I wanted my children to have that experience, to get muddy and hang out with the animals." Horses, pigs, dogs and chickens can be found at Libbey Ranch, notes the Reporter.

Libbey Ranch made headlines twice in the past few years; once when it was the setting of Witherspoon's wedding to second husband Jim Toth in 2011 and again in July, when actor Robert Pattinson reportedly used it as a retreat from the media scrutiny following news of Kristen Stewart's affair.

Real estate agent Billy Rose told Zillow that Ojai is the perfect place for anyone who wants to get away from fans and paparazzi.

"Assuming the reports are correct and Pattinson was there, it’s a place that people don’t care; there’s not the same sort of celebrity attraction that we have here [in L.A.] with the vans and buses with people who want to go look at houses that people lived in 40 years ago," said Rose to Zillow. “I think that you can be much more of a normal person up there.”
