"Community" viewers will finally meet Jeff Winger's (Jole McHale) father when James Brolin joins the cast.
According to EW, Brolin's character will show up in the Thanksgiving episode. Look for Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) to host a gathering at her house and for Jeff to wind up at his estranged father's home. McHale took to Twitter to share the first photo of him with his new TV dad.
Brolin's other TV credits include "Marcus Welby, M.D.," "Batman" and "The West Wing." In 1970 he won an Emmy for "Marcus Welby, M.D."
During Comic-Con 2012, McHale offered up a few casting possibilities.
"Channing Tatum would be great; Jessica Biel would be a great father for me; anybody from the cast of 'Green Lantern,' really. People have talked about Bill Murray because my character, his last name is based on that," McHale told reporters on Friday. "Someone like John Laroquette would be great, someone like John Cleese would be terrific. I think we should mix it up and make it like Eddie Murphy or something. Jackie Chan would be great. I hope maybe it's Meryl Streep, she can do anything, she's very versatile. It'll be great to sink my teeth into."
