New Lay's Cheeseburger Potato Chips Are Weirdly Good

It's a festive day, folks. September 18 is National Cheeseburger Day! To celebrate such an important holiday, Lay's has debuted a new flavor of its Stax brand (think the Lay's version of Pringles): All-American Cheeseburger.

Yup, it's a hamburger-flavored potato chip. And ya know what? We liked it. It tasted like a fast food cheeseburger in potato chip form, with a healthy dose of pickle. The one issue with the chip was its uneven spread of flavoring -- it was all in the so-called "valley" of the chip and not enough around the outer edges. Eating the chip upside-down solved that problem, though.

i have tried these. Didn't like them. Too much other stuff to retain its potato chip flavor, which is what I really look for in any flavored potato chip. Not sure how turnng the chip upside down solves any problem either.

Forget the cheeseburger-flavored potato chips! I want to know who's going to be brave enough to chomp on a GLASS potato chip.

By the way, Lay's is hosting a contest to see who get to invent the newest Lay's flavor.

Philly Cheese Steak? Sausage and spaghetti? Pigs in a blanket? Chocolate marshmallow?

I can't stand the taste of either Stackers or Pringles no matter what they flavor them with. IMO they taste like dehydrated potato flakes that have been rehydrated, molded, and fried which, of course, is exactly what they are! Give me chips made from fresh potatos, thank you.

Lays isnt the first chip maker to do this. Doritos has the cheeseburger flavor as well. Been out a few years now.

I invented Lays Stacker chips - they were my idea. I gave it Frito Lay for free.

What I'm working on now is a new machine that cuts the raw potato into a chip that stands up on its own.

I spritz them with hot oil and bake them on sheets. The result is this incredible crispy - crunchy baked chip.

What is AOL up to? We can make comments on Potatoe chips, but AOL doenst let us comment on the evils of MONSANTO CHEMICAL whose pesticides are killing bees. THIS IS MORE SERIOUS THAN MOST THINK wE WILL GET LESS FOODS. AND ALTHOUGH...THERE ARTICLE THAT WE MIGHT NO SEE pumpkins anymore...we woul dbe loosing many other foods. I think you could have been more effective with your comment if you typed it a little better. I 1000% agree with you about the bees and it seems like no one wants to a) take it seriously b) do something about it c) understand the ramifications. The bee population in the northeast is down dramatically, therefore the plants that live off the "services" of the bee suffer as well. Have you contacted local environmental agencies? How about beekeepers? What do they suggest?

I have tried 'cheeseburger flavored chips. They are not too bad (wasn't Lays brand). They even have 'dill pickle' 'baby back ribs' and 'buffalo wings' flavored chips. What's next????

Sounds like Lays is joining Prigles in making yet more highly processed foods. What a way to make chips even less heathful to consume. I will stick with the actual sliced potato thanks anyway Lays.
