Although Jason Ritter nabbed an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Lauren Graham's now-fiance on "Parenthood," there was a time when the prospect of working with the "Gilmore Girls" actress terrified him.

"I remember I was really nervous before I started working with her," Ritter said in a video interview with the Associated Press. "I know you can fake liking each other and having a relationship, but it's much easier if you have a ground level of liking each other."

As it turns out, the only thing Ritter had to be nervous about was other guys making a move on Graham's character Sarah.

"In the second season I was getting jealous of her other boyfriends," he admitted.

"He's the most wonderful guy and such a wonderful actor," Graham said of Ritter and his Emmy nod
on the "Tonight Show With Jay Leno." "We feel proud, as if we're a small Olympic country who got one guy who got a medal. We got our one athlete in."

"Parenthood" airs on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
