Maybe Seattle's not the best city to try this defense.
A convicted sex offender, who was allegedly caught masturbating with his pants down in a Seattle park last month, tried to convince the cops that he was just getting "some sun."
The Seattle Post Intelligencer reports that 44-year-old Tracy McDonald was allegedly flashing an unidentified 23-year-old woman.
“There was absolutely no sun where he was standing," Seattle Detective Donna Stangeland said, according to recently released court documents.
McDonald's defense may suffer from rain-soaked Seattle's reputation as a not-so-ideal locale for sunbathers. He was charged with felony indecent exposure.
CBS Seattle reports that McDonald's criminal record includes two convictions for felony indecent exposure, as well as three misdemeanor indecent exposure convictions.
Of course, accused flashers have offered authorities many curious explanations over the years.
In 2008, the Houston Chronicle reported on a Texas doctor whose lawyers insisted their client could not have flashed an undercover cop because his penis was too small to be seen.
The doctor was convicted of indecent exposure.
