The Chicago-area real estate market has shown some signs of improvement in recent weeks, according to a new report.
The Illinois Association of Realtors reported this week that sales of existing homes in the Chicagoland area were up 28.5 percent in August when compared to the same month the previous year. The Chicago Sun-Times notes that the sales are at their highest level in more than five years.
In July, while sales rose a comparable 30 percent, median sales prices in the area continued to lag. In August, though, prices appeared to be on the rebound. Realtor.com recently shared their most recent data, breaking down which ZIP codes in the market are home to the highest median prices.
