Piers Morgan Slams The Latest Season Of 'America's Got Talent' On 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' (VIDEO)

Piers Morgan Slams Latest 'America's Got Talent' Season

For the first six season of "America's Got Talent," Piers Morgan was a judge. Or, as he put it on "Late Night," "when it was successful." Morgan doesn't have a problem with his replacement Howard Stern -- he said he loves him -- but he wasn't too thrilled with the act that took home the top prize.

"Now Howard said he was going to find ‘world-class talent,'" Morgan said. "Here they are: the winners of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ two stupid dogs."

He was referring to the act Olate Dogs -- which includes more than two dogs, for the record -- which took home the $1,000,000 prize and will headline that show in Las Vegas. Also for the record, viewer votes determine the show's ultimate winner. In fact, the worst offense Stern may have committed was in putting them on the show in the first place. Olate Dogs never even fell into the position of needing a judges' save: America propelled them straight to the top.

Morgan was right on one point. Deadline reports the finale was the lowest-rated in the history of "America's Got Talent."

"America's Got Talent" will have to go on without Sharon Osbourne, either, as she very publicly quit during the season, and vehemently stood by that decision in more recent interviews. But "AGT" will be back in Summer 2013 on NBC. "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" is on every weeknight at 12:37 a.m. ET on NBC.
