'Up All Night' Premiere: Ava's Show Getting Canceled Leads To Lots Of Changes (VIDEO)

'Up All Night' Premiere: Ava's Talk Show Gets Canceled

"Up All Night" returned to NBC's schedule, but it came back a very different show than it left. Right off the bat, viewers knew change was in the air when Ava came running in announcing that her show had been cancelled. Almost before anyone could absorb that information, Chris went off and got his job back, while Reagan decided to take her turn at being a stay-at-home parent.

In other words, they just flipped the script of the entire show. Not to mention the addition of Luka Jones as Reagan's brother, Scott. At first, he was just the contractor they'd hired to redo their bathroom. But then Chris realized he didn't want to just be a lawyer doing nothing rewarding with his life. After finding out Scott is miserable and working for his father-in-law, the two decided to go into business together.

That just leaves Ava, who has no idea what to do. After a short fight, she and Reagan stood by one another and vowed to stay together as they figured out their next chapter. But first, to wrap this one by closing out their offices. They did think about stealing one of the studio carts, but with the security guards able to just walk alongside them, this proved a futile effort.

But will fans stick by the drastic changes for the cast? Reviewers are mixed, with The Salt Lake Tribune saying that the bits at Ava's show were the funniest parts of the series. But TVFanatic is on board. They loved the addition of Jones and felt the jumps between the talk show and Reagan's home life messed with the show's flow.

"My love of this show was renewed in full tonight and I can't wait for more in upcoming weeks," TVFanatic's reviewer wrote. But will you be sticking with the new "Up All Night," Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC?
