The Big Push: Join Arianna, Bono, Charlize, Others In Fight Against HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria (PHOTOS)

Picture this: A world where virtually no child is born with HIV, or where no death is caused by a mosquito bite or by tuberculosis. As unrealistic as that sounds, the reality is that we are much closer to achieving this dream than anyone realizes. But, like every amazing advance made by humankind, this goal needs a Big Push.

Well, The Big Push to finally eliminate deaths from these three devastating diseases and others starts now!

Initiated by The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, in partnership with The Huffington Post, The Big Push is a digital campaign to rally support for our goal to virtually eliminate global deaths from these three deadly diseases and achieve other global health goals.

The collection of portraits in the slideshow below embodies the hope and ambitions of people from around the globe who have joined The Big Push for global health. Let’s show the world that the time has come to change the course of history and end the impact of these diseases once and for all. We have made tremendous advances in the past 10 years -- we can't stop now. We need a Big Push.

This week participants of the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos are joining the Big Push to show their support for defeating AIDS, TB and malaria as well as many other causes for making the world a better place.

You won't find celebrities fighting the global tobacco epidemic. They work in industries that promote smoking as glamorous/cool.

You won't find business/industry coalitions like the World Economic Forum fighting the global tobacco epidemic. It's safer to focus on diseases that are not caused by products made by related businesses that target children and women in the developing world for addiction.

We shouldn't fight diseases, we should stop people who spread them. Mother Theresa said "invite me to ant-war rally and will not go, invite me to a peace rally and I will be there".
Ariana, Bono, Charlize and others..., before they go to World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, they should read book "Murder by Injection The story of Medical Conspiracy Against America" by Eustace Mullins, a well research and documented book on how really these deceases come into our world and how they are being spread. They also should investigate why genetic scientists in Philadelphia hospital are working on a deadly virus that will kill one ethnic group, but will not harm others. If they don't do this and confront authorities who finance projects like this , their presence there will be just "photo up".

Honestly Arianna, I would have agreed with you and Bono 2 years ago before I spent a year researching the topic of Neglected Tropical diseases in sub-Saharan Africa but after so much communication with economists, development specialists, physicians in the trenches of rural and urban poverty, I began to see clearly that neglect of populations is a structural problem beginning with lacks. The lack of will domestically in countries in question, the lack of capacity both inside and outside affected countries, access problems for the poor and particularly the disabled, IMF policies, unfair global trade markets, city actors dictating the agricultural prices for poor rural farmers and much more. You may want to read my thesis.
