Mumford & Sons On 'SNL': 'I Will Wait' & 'Below My Feet' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Mumford & Sons Rock 'SNL'

When Mumford & Sons keyboardist-singer Ben Levitt called his band a "poor man's version of The Beatles" during a Friday evening concert, perhaps it was because he was thinking about "Saturday Night Live." The band -- whose new album, Babel, is set for release this week -- performed two new songs on Saturday night's edition of the late-night comedy series and also appeared as a Beatles cover band during one the sketches.

Not online due to music rights, the segment featured Mumford & Sons playing a band called Hey Dude and wearing costumes that corresponded to The Beatles' various looks throughout the '60s and '70s. (Lead singer Marcus Mumford was outfitted with a Meet the Beatles!-era wig and turtleneck.) At the end of the sketch -- which starred host Joseph Gordon-Levitt and cast members Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Kenan Thompson -- Mumford & Sons led the crowd and cast in a singalong of The Beatles' hit song "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away."

In addition to the comedy, Mumford & Sons also performed "I Will Wait" and "Below My Feet," the former with a brass section to liven up the proceedings. Watch "I Will Wait" above and "Below My Feet," fittingly, below. Babel is out on Sept. 24.
