Crossroads GPS Launches $3.7 Million Ad Buy In Ohio, Virginia, Nevada, Indiana

Crossroads GPS, the conservative advocacy group backed by Karl Rove, continued its spending blitz across key Senate races with the release of four new ads Tuesday, as part of a $3.7 million ad buy.

The four new spots will air in Ohio, Virginia, Indiana and Nevada and are consistent with the group's theme of casting Democratic candidates as big government spenders whose policies, the ads argue, would put Americans out of work.

“Instead of creating jobs, these liberal politicians have created more debt and government with their tax-and-spend policies,” said Nate Hodson, Crossroads GPS director of state and regional media relations, in a statement. “It’s time to hold them accountable for their big-government agenda which is halting the economic growth we need.”

An ad attacking former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine seizes on recent comments he made during a debate that he would be "open to" setting a minimum income tax level for everyone.

The spot targeting Sen. Sherrod Brown focuses on the incumbent senator's support for President Barack Obama's health care law, stating it cost Ohioans manufacturing jobs and cut back hiring in the state. Similarly, the commercial centered on Rep. Joe Donnelly in Indiana ties the congressman to the president's health care law and stimulus package.
