Anyone who needs to reinforce the notion that New York City is a ridiculously intense city need only watch two rushed men compete for a cab.
Oh, look what we have here: Two apparent lions of the business world have been caught on camera fighting over a New York City taxi cab. Maybe lions is overstating it: One YouTube commentator said he’d seen “middle schoolers fight with more ferocity than these two," according to CBS New York.
The fight, which reportedly took place at Park Avenue South and 27th Street, certainly wasn't made to impress.
“New York is the most competitive city in the world but these two took things way too far,” the city’s Taxi and Limousine Commissioner said in a statement. “If you miss a cab, just take a deep breath and calm down. There’s another one in a minute or so away.”
As it turns out, a lot of people don’t calm down. A quick search for taxi cab fights on YouTube will show you that “fare” fights, as the New York Daily News puns, aren’t so rare.
