'The Voice' Renewed For Season 4 And Season 5

NBC Renews 'The Voice' For 2 More Seasons

"The Voice" has been renewed for aSeason 4 and Season 5. Season 4 will premiere during spring 2013 -- with new coaches -- and Season 5 will follow in the fall.

"This pickup will assure the many dedicated 'Voice' fans that this innovative show will continue to bring some of the most talented new voices to the world’s attention through all of next year," NBC's Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. “With the addition of Usher and Shakira as rotating coaches to join Christina, Cee Lo, Adam and Blake in the next cycle, we know that this incredibly addictive program will remain even more relevant as we move forward through this exciting season. My hat is off to John de Mol, Mark Burnett, and everyone who produces this classy and highly entertaining show for us."

As previously reported, Shakira and Usher will replace Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green as coaches during Season 4, but producers have stressed that they can return to the series.

"The Voice" has been a bright spot for NBC in the Nielsen ratings game. So far for Season 3, the series has been averaging a 4.5 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic on Monday nights and a 4.3 on Tuesdays. The Mon., Sept. 24 episode of the series had 11.9 million viewers and a 4.2 rating.

No coaches for Season 5 have been announced.
