'Stoker' Trailer: Nicole Kidman, Mommie Dearest (VIDEO)

WATCH: Nicole Kidman Is Mommie Dearest In 'Stoker'

What happens when you cross "Shadow of a Doubt" with "Mommie Dearest" and a dash of Terrence Malick? "Stoker," the new thriller from "Oldboy" director Park Chan-wook.

Starring Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska and Matthew Goode as, respectively, Evie, India and Uncle Charlie, "Stoker" focuses what happens when India's mysterious uncle moves to town following the equally mysterious death of her father. Creepy spiders, "Carrie"-like school bullies and some incredible one-liners ensue, making "Stoker" look both completely campy and totally terrifying. Sample dialogue: "I've often wondered why it is we have children. The conclusion I've come to is that we want someone to get it right this time. But not me. Personally speaking, I can't wait to watch life tear you apart." And this: "She's of age." "Of age for what?" "You have no idea."

So! Crazytown. Beyond being the English-language debut of Park Chan-wook, "Stoker" is also the screenwriting debut of Wentworth Miller, the former star of the Fox series "Prison Break." Miller, who wrote the script under the pseudonym Ted Foulke, told Movieline that the script was influenced by Hitchock's "Shadow of a Doubt." (Which you already guessed since there's a character named "Uncle Charlie.")

Fun fact: Jodie Foster and Carey Mulligan were originally attached to star. Judging from the trailer, it's their loss.
