Jennifer Burgess Accused Of Breaking In To Sacramento Home To Take A Shower (VIDEO)

Arrested For Taking A Shower

If only her getaway had been as clean as she was.

Jennifer Burgess had just gotten out of the shower when police picked her up. Unfortunately, it wasn't her shower.

Randy Kizer, a Sacramento homeowner, had no clue how the 24-year-old Burgess got into his house or why she was wearing his son's robe

Burgess even answered Kizer's door with her hair wet, according to KOVR-TV.

Burgess tried to explain that she thought the house was abandoned.

“She goes, ‘Can I go change?’” Kizer told the station. “And I go, ‘Yeah, you can.’”

He stayed outside, lest she had company, he said.

Kizer then asked Burgess if she was homeless and she said she was.

However, Kizer is skeptical since Burgess seemed to move about the home like she'd been there before, he told the station.

"One of the dogs was laying on the floor here and this is the dog that jumps on everyone," he said. "The dogs weren't at all alarmed by her presence."

Deputies arrived on the scene to arrest Burgess. They said she had not only planned to walk away with every spare key in the house, but she had also stolen $46 in cash that had been in his childrens' piggy banks, the Daily Mail reported.

Burgess was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary and was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. She is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
