Which Big Stars Are Headed To 'The New Normal'?

George Takei and Nicole Richie are getting ready to take over "The New Normal."

Takei and Richie are headed to the NBC comedy, creator Ryan Murphy tweeted on Friday.

Best known for his role in "Star Trek," Takei has most recently appeared on "Community" and "True Justice," among others, while Richie is known for playing herself on 2005's "The Simple Life."

In other casting news...

"Breaking Bad" vet Mark Margolis is headed to "American Horror Story: Asylum." The AMC villain will play recurring character Sam Goodwin on the FX drama with details kept under wraps. [EW]

Lindsay Pulsipher is headed to "Law & Order: SVU." The "True Blood" alum will play Det. Rollins' (Kelli Giddish) younger sister Kim Rollins in a recurring role on the police procedural. [TV Guide]

A "Star Trek" alum is headed to "Castle." Armin Shimerman will guest star as Benjamin Donnely, a "tech geek who manufactures authentic props for people's costumes at sci-fi conventions" on the ABC fan favorite. [TV Guide]
