Detroit Water Department Workers Walk Off The Job

Detroit — A court hearing could be held as early as today to force Detroit wastewater treatment plant employees back to work after they walked off the job Sunday morning to protest proposed cuts to their work force.

About 40 operations staffers left their posts at the plant, 9300 W. Jefferson, around 10 a.m. Sunday and began picketing, one union leader said.
