Country singer Jason Aldean may have shed some teardrops on his guitar after he was caught kissing a woman -- rumored to be Brittany Kerr -- who is not his wife. But instead of shying away from the judging eye of the public, Aldean decided to publicly admit his indiscretions and apologize.
Aldean was photographed with "the other woman" at a club on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles last week. TMZ says that the woman kissing Aldean was Kerr, a cheerleader for the Charlotte Bobcats who also appeared on Season 11 of "American Idol."
"In the photos Aldean and Kerr get very flirty ... hugging, touching each other and at one point it appears Aldean goes in for a kiss," reports TMZ.
After the photos were posted, Aldean took to his Facebook page on Sunday to fess up to the cheating scandal and apologize:
Hey Guys – I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites. The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.
Aldean is currently married to his high school sweetheart, Jessica Ussery. They wed back in 2001 and have two daughters together, according to E! News.
The country crooner, best known for his songs "Dirt Road Anthem," "Big Green Tractor" and "Don't You Wanna Stay" with Kelly Clarkson, was in Southern California for a performance over the weekend. His new album Night Train drops on Oct. 16, reports Taste of Country, and he'll be back on the road (and hopefully out of trouble) Oct. 25.
As for Kerr, she basked in 15 minutes of fame when she auditioned for Season 11 of "American Idol." Viewers instantly noted her resemblance to former "A.I." winner Carrie Underwood. Alas, she did not even make it to the semi-finals.
