New Tours On The Panama Canal Railway (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: On The Panama Canal Railway

A new series of tours takes visitors to Central America along the scenic Panama Canal Railway, which pre-dates the country's famous canal.

The first ocean-to-ocean cargo link on the isthmus, the railroad connects Cristobal on the Atlantic side and Balboa on the Pacific. The one-hour journey transits the entire country -- all 47.6 miles between the oceans.

Views alternate between the canal itself, Gatun Lake and the verdant tropical jungle of Panama.

The $125 trip is bookable online.
