Political Kombat '12 Imagines Presidential Election Death Match In Video Game Form

For anyone tired of looking through the 2012 election slog through the scope of traditional politics, the enterprising minds at Slate V have created an entertaining alternative.

It's called "Political Kombat '12," a video series that looks to be based off the famous "Mortal Kombat" video game franchise. Any child of the '90s will likely be disappointed that it doesn't appear to be playable, but the eye for detail displayed in the video production makes it fun just to watch.

Round one features GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney battling former nominees Rick Santorum and Herman Cain for the nomination. Santorum comes loaded with attacks based on his support for clean coal and memorable opposition to the separation of church and state. Cain launches "9-9-9" missiles and has the ability to harness the power of his unforgettable "creepy" campaign ad.

Romney comes with a whole different bag of tricks, but just watch the whole thing for yourself.
