In Hollywood, it's not uncommon for the romances between characters to develop into real-life relationships. Sometimes the scripted chemistry looks so authentic because, well, it is.

    Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli <a href="">met on the set of </a>the 1996 <a href="">TV movie "An Unfinished Affair,"</a> in which Garth plays a college student who is having an affair with her professor. Once the professor goes back to his wife, Garth's character tries to get back at him by seducing his son, played by Facinelli. The now-estranged couple <a href=",,20578138,00.html">announced their split</a> in March 2012 after 11 years of marriage. Later that month, Facinelli <a href="">filed for divorce</a>. They have three daughters together.

  • Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter

    Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter <a href=",,20190572,00.html">met on the set</a> of the Showtime thriller "Dexter," which premiered in 2006. Hall plays the titular character and Carpenter plays his adopted sister Deb. In the sixth season, Deb starts to worry that she is <a href="">in love with Dexter.</a> The now ex-couple <a href="">eloped on New Year's Eve</a> in 2008. They <a href=",,20551518,00.html">separated in August 2010</a> and their <a href=",,20551518,00.html">divorce was finalized</a> in December 2011.

  • Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe

    Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe first met at her <a href=",,,00.html">21st birthday party</a> in 1997. Their romance heated up on the set of the campy teen drama "Cruel Intentions," in which the now ex-couple played on-screen lovers. Phillippe <a href=",,619909,00.html">proposed in February 1998</a>, a year before the movie was released in 1999. The actress <a href="">filed for divorce</a> from Phillippe -- her husband of seven years -- in November 2006. The ex-couple has two children together. Witherspoon <a href="">welcomed son Tennessee</a> with her second husband, talent agent Jim Toth, in September 2012.
