A Ukrainian League match between Chornomorets Odessa and Metalist Kharkiv on Saturday was briefly interrupted by a crazed fan running on the field and attacking one of the linesmen.
In the video above, the officials can be seen deliberating near the sideline when a large man burst onto the scene and tried strangling a linesman. Police wrestled the man away with the help of some stadium staffers. As authorities tried escorting him off the field, the fan tried to break loose. Just before they reached the tunnel, he managed to get one hand free. He delivered a fist pump.
According to Eurosport, the officials were on the sideline talking to the Chernomorets coach who was upset that they awarded Metalist a corner kick.
Play resumed shortly after the incident and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Earlier in September, an ugly brawl broke out in the stands during a Chernomorets-Zorya match. That melee included a few fans tumbling down the steps.
