George Clooney & Jean Dujardin Could Team Up For 'Monuments Men'

From Rivals To Co-Stars? George Clooney & Jean Dujardin Could Team Up

George Clooney and Jean Dujardin were opponents at the 84th annual Academy Awards, but they could soon be on the same team. TheWrap reports that Clooney wants Dujardin to appear in "The Monuments Men," a new caper film that Clooney will direct and co-write.

Based on the Robert M. Edsel book "The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History," the film will focus on a team of art historians who hunt the lost artifacts. If that sounds a bit like "Ocean's 11," it's not an accident: When Clooney revealed his interest in the project at the end of 2011, he said it would be a commercial endeavor.

"I'm excited about it," Clooney said to TheWrap in December. "It's a fun move because it could be big entertainment."

That Clooney would seek to partner with Dujardin is far from a shock. The two got along famously on the Academy Awards press circuit earlier this year.

"It was very cool," Dujardin said about meeting Clooney to "Access Hollywood." "No pressure. He's a sweet man. All class." The French star later compared Clooney to Cary Grant.

Of course, on Oscar night, Dujardin won Best Actor for "The Artist," beating Clooney's performance in "The Descendants" to win the trophy.
