The Jacksons aren’t the only celebrity family who are taking legal action in an attempt to restructure the estate of a late icon. In recent weeks it has been reported that Whitney Houston’s family have filed a petition as executors of the Pop star’s estate against Bobbi Kristina Brown.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the singer’s mother Cissy Houston and sister-in-law/business manager, Marion Houston are seeking to revise Brown’s inheritance payments citing that she “is a highly visible target for those who would exert undue influence over her inheritance and/or seek to benefit from respondent's resources and celebrity." In addition, the petition also revealed;

the trust's "spendthrift provision" were set up to "provide for the proper maintenance and comfort of the respondent, and to prevent the wasting of trust assets."

The news comes just weeks before the premiere of the family’s new Lifetime reality show aptly titled, The Houstons, and following a string of events between Brown and her rumored boyfriend and adoptive brother, Nick Gordon, who most recently tweeted a photo of himself toting a black hand gun.
