For all the eye-rolling and jabbering about the silliness of the debate expectations game presidential campaigns play every cycle, everyone--everyone--is playing. Pols and pundits alike are weighing in on who can lower their own expectations while painting their opponent as the reincarnation of Daniel Webster.

Will zingers from Romney or Obama lodge in our collective political consciousness for all time? Will we have a "sigh" moment? Nobody knows, but everybody has a theory on what these hypothetical outcomes will mean for the election.
