Sofia Vergara is one Hollywood's most famous Latinas of the moment, thanks in part to her role as the sassy Colombian Gloria on ABC's hugely popular and critically acclaimed show, "Modern Family." She's also preparing to the tie knot after getting engaged to boyfriend Nick Loeb in July.

But there have been quite a few Latina starlets who walked down the aisle in style before Sofia. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 through October 15, here are eight of our favorite Latina celebrity brides.

  • Alexa Vega

  • Christina Aguilera

    Christina Aguilera <a href="">married Jordan Bratman in 2005</a>, but they <a href="">divorced in 2011.</a> The singer, of <a href="">Ecuadorian descent</a>, has <a href="">released an album in Spanish</a>. Aguilera is currently <a href="">dating Matt Rutler</a>, whom she met on the set of her first movie, "Burlesque," in 2010.

  • Eva Longoria

    Mexican beauty Eva Longoria and <a href="">her first husband, Tyler Christopher, married in 2002</a>, but their divorce was finalized exactly one day short of their two-year anniversary. Longoria then <a href="">wed basketball player Tony Parker</a> in 2007, but the couple split amid <a href="">reports that Parker had cheated in 2011</a>. Longoria is currently <a href="">dating New York Jets quarterback and fellow Latino Mark Sanchez</a>.

  • Salma Hayek

    Salma Hayek, who was <a href="">born in Mexico</a>, married frenchman Francois-Henri Pinault on <a href="">Valentine's Day in 2009</a>.

  • Fergie

    Stacy Ferguson, who is better known as Fergie, <a href="">walked down the aisle with actor Josh Duhamel in 2009</a>. Ferguson is <a href="">mostly Scottish and Irish,</a> but has a <a href="">great grandmother who was born in Mexico</a>, giving this gal some Latina roots.

  • Mariah Carey

    Mariah Carey first said "I do" in 1993 <a href=",,20106787,00.html" target="_hplink">to record producer Tommy Mottola,</a> but the <a href="">couple divorced in 1998</a>. Carey, who is of <a href="">Irish, African-American and Venezuelan descent</a>, <a href="">married Nick Cannon in 2008</a>. The couple <a href="" target="_hplink">has two children</a> together.

  • Jennifer Lopez

    Jennifer Lopez's <a href="" target="_hplink">first marriage</a> to Ojani Noa in 1997 ended less than one year later. The <a href="">Puerto Rican</a> pop star then walked down the aisle with Cris Judd in 2001, only to <a href=",,624417,00.html" target="_hplink">call it quits in 2002</a>. J.Lo's most recent -- and longest -- marriage to fellow pop singer <a href="">Marc Anthony ended in 2011 when he filed for divorce</a>.
