Arianna and LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner took to CNBC's Squawk Box this morning to discuss various ways to solve the skills gap that has left 3.7 million jobs unfilled despite so many Americans struggling with unemployment.
"What are some of the most important things we can be doing right now to fill the skills gap?" Arianna asked Weiner. The LinkedIn CEO cited improving employee and vocational training, among other solutions, as one way to get Americans back to work.
The interview also provided a chance for the two to discuss LinkedIn's new thought leaders feature, which allows users of the professional social network to follow business leaders and other public figures. Arianna's first post "How to Sleep Your Way to the Top – Literally," is a good example of the "long form content" that Weiner hopes will help users find success in their professional lives.
"It's the kind of knowledge and expertise our members love," Weiner said.
