Chicagoans React To The First 2012 Presidential Debate (TWEETS)

With the first presidential debate of the 2012 election in the books, the conversation has already turned to who "won" the first rhetorical showdown between President Obama and GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

While most pundits, reports and political operatives alike agreed that Romney was successful in his attempt to appear presidential and remain calm even as he remained scant on details and recent polling on the race has provided good news for his opponent.

The debate also was significant as it became the most tweeted event in U.S. political history -- even as Big Bird and Jim Lehrer stole a large slice of the social spotlight away from the candidates.

We rounded up some 21 reactions from Chicago tweeters who took to the social network to weigh in on the matchup. Let us know what you thought of the debate in the comments below.
