Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee Jr. is expected to resign in the wake of allegations that he carried on an affair with an Internal Affairs officer, according to a city councilman.

Cornered at the airport Wednesday night by reporters after flying in from San Diego -- he was the last person to get off the plane -- Godbee repeatedly declined to comment on the allegations, including whether he would step down.
