Joanne Lurie's 'Partir' Will Make Your Heart Pitter-Patter (VIDEO)

A Love Story Told In Chalk

There may have been a time in the history of Huffington Post Arts & Culture where we declared something "the cutest thing ever." We would officially like to recant the aforementioned statement and issue an apology, because nothing is better than Joanne Lurie's chalk-drawn monsters in love.

The French animator's heartwarming short "Partir" follows two mysterious creatures as they roam the city streets all dizzy and lovestruck. It's "Toy Story" meets "Breathless" and it is perfect. In case your French isn't up to par, allow us to translate the only line, a quote from author Jean Marie Kerwich:

“Just now I heard the heartbeat of a tiny raindrop."

Say it with us: Awwwwwwww.
