'The Mormon Madoff' Story On 'Who The (Bleep) Did I Marry?'

"The Mormon Madoff" was spotlighted on the latest episode of "Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?" It told the story from the perspective of Shawn Merriman's wife of 20 years, Andrea. Shawn ran a Ponzi scheme out of their home for fifteen years, and she had no idea.

She only learned the truth when, racked with guilt, he decided to turn himself in. But by then, it was too late for all those people he'd swindled out of their money -- $20 million over all -- including his own mother.

Andrea and the couple's four children lost everything after her husband's confession, auctioning off their possessions in 2011 to help repay investors who'd lost everything.

"I don’t have extras for anything. But, it is a life that is equally as satisfying and equally as fulfilling," Andrea said of her life now as compared to her life with Shawn. Her husband was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison on charges of mail fraud.

More shocking surprises are revealed every week on "Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?" Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ID.
