Actor Ron Livingston 'Proud' Of Sister Jennifer, TV Anchor Bullied Over Weight

"Office Space" actor Ron Livingston says that he is so "proud" of his sister Jennifer Livingston, a Wisconsin news anchor who defended herself on air after a viewer cruelly criticized her weight.

"My sister Jennifer ... brings an exceptional dedication to her job, her family, and her community, and has been a role model of mine for many, many years," Livingston said in a statement to People magazine.

The actor, who has also appeared on "Sex and the City" and "House," goes on to add that he is "extremely proud" of Jennifer, who is also an Emmy-winning journalist and mother of three, according to People.

"I got a text from him first thing this morning saying, ‘Way to go sissy. I’m so proud of you,’” Jennifer Livingston said during a “Good Morning America” interview on Thursday.

Jennifer's story made national headlines after she went live on air on WKBT to defend herself against Kenneth W. Krause, who wrote a hurtful letter criticizing Livingston's weight.

The letter, which was posted on Facebook, reads in part: "Surely you don't consider yourself a suitable example for this community's young people, girls in particular. Obesity is one of the worst choices a person can make and one of the most dangerous habits to maintain."

Livington admitted she is overweight, but noted the man's cruelty. “The truth is, I am overweight," she said on WBTV. "But to the person who wrote me that letter, do you think I don’t know that? That your cruel words are pointing out something that I don’t see? You don't know me... so you know nothing about me but what you see on the outside and I am much more than a number on a scale."

She finished with inspiring words.

“I leave you with this: To all of the children out there who feel lost, who are struggling with your weight, with the color of your skin, your sexual preference, your disability, even the acne on your face, listen to me right now. do not let your self-worth be defined by bullies. Learn from my experience — that the cruel words of one are nothing compared to the shouts of many.”
