It may not have been the "smash" hit NBC had hoped for, but that doesn't mean executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have given up on their musical drama dream after "Smash."

According to Deadline.com, the "Smash" producers are working on another musical drama series about "a 30-something songwriter who has written the most epic love songs of our time, despite, or perhaps due to the fact that she is painfully unlucky in love."

"30 Rock" creator and star Tina Fey is all about "Smash" these days and has some thoughts.

"Listen, if I could get a job where I go in three days a week and pitch stories on 'Smash' I am there," Fey told Entertainment Weekly of what she wants in her post "30 Rock" life. "I will bring my own scarves. I have a lot of ideas."

It looks like Zadan and Meron have found their star.

"Smash" returns to NBC in January.
