John Cusack partook in a "Say Anything ..." reunion over the weekend when the actor joined Peter Gabriel on stage during a performance of "In Your Eyes." Past, present and future Diane Courts, begin swooning now.
As Gabriel -- who is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his breakout album So by playing the record in order during live shows -- began "In Your Eyes," Cusack walked onto the stage and handed Gabriel a boombox. The moment recalled the iconic scene in Cameron Crowe's "In Your Eyes," when Cusack's Lloyd Dobler stands outside the window of his ex-girlfriend Diane (Ione Skye) while holding a boom box playing "In Your Eyes" over his head. (The song held special meaning for the couple, which you know since you've seen "Say Anything ..." a million times.)
For his part, Cusack has never shied away from his breakout role.
"No, I am happy that anybody's talking about me at all, so it's OK,” Cusack told Moviefone when asked if he was ever upset about his connection to "Say Anything ..."
