Jonathan Dailey's friends and family have launched a desperate search for the 23-year-old graduate student at Boston Architectural College who disappeared Tuesday without ID, his computer or driver's license, according to The Boston Globe.
Police say he hasn't used his bank account since his disappearance.
Miles Smith, his roommate, told the Boston Herald that the two spent a normal evening together on Tuesday, splitting pizza while watching "The Office." At 9:30 p.m., Dailey stepped out. No one has seen him since.
A flyer circulating online and in Boston described the circumstances further.
Jon's computer, backpack, sleeping bag (he liked to camp), clothes, phone charges, passport, drivers license and eyeglasses were all in the apartment, and there was no sign of forced entry. Jon doesn't have a working vehicle in Boston, so he would have walked, taken a train, bus or ridden in someone else's vehicle to leave the area. Without ID or debit card, he wouldn't be able to buy an airline ticket or fly.
Family members say he has no history of drug use, is single and has no history of mental illness. His parents flew up from Charlotte on Friday when he didn't show at for his job at American Apparel in Cambridge.
"We just want to find our son and are ready for him to come home," said his mother Donna Dailey told WBTV.
Friends created a Facebook page to spread word of his disappearance and recruit others in their search. The Dailey's have periodically updated the page, writing:
"It does not appear that Jonathan is here in the hospital, the morgue, in jail or with anyone yet who would recognize or know him. One possibility we're considering is that he was feeling overwhelmed by several things, and needed to escape and get off the grid - without telling anyone."
Police say Dailey is 5 feet 9 inches, 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, and a black stripe tattoo on his left bicep. Anyone who sees him should call District D-14 detectives at 617-343-4256.
