Driver Swerves To Avoid Gunfire, Crashes Into Pompano Beach House (WATCH)

VIDEO: Wild Night For Pompano Driver

Most South Florida drivers expect to be on defense when hitting the road, but not from gunshots aimed at their passenger side window.

That was the case for two men now recovering after driving into a Pompano Beach home early Tuesday morning to avoid bullets.

The crash happened 1:30 early Tuesday at Northeast 35th Street and First Avenue. Neighbors told police several people were standing outside of a parked car when they opened fire on the passing driver, according to CBSMiami.

WSVN reports the driver then swerved to avoid the shots, slamming into a decorative wall adjoining the home. Fortunately, he and a passenger walked away fairly unscathed.

Police say the shooters escaped in a car that was later found abandoned in Lauderhill.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact the authorities.
