'If You're Cooking The Books, 7.8% Unemployment Is A Sh*tty Recipe'

Ever since the new unemployment numbers were released shortly after President Obama and Mitt Romney's first debate, conservatives have been crying foul. Former General Electric CEO Jack Welch has led the charge, saying that the numbers just don't "smell right."

But on Monday night's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart poked several holes in the conservative conspiracy theory, not the least of which is the fact that unemployment has been on a slow downward trend for quite a while. He also asked the reasonable question, if you're going to just make sh*t up, why not do better than 7.8%?
