Amber Tamblyn Dress: Is Yellow (And Pink And Green...) The New Wedding Trend? (PHOTOS)

Would you wear a colorful bridal gown?

Our first response when we heard Amber Tamblyn got married over the weekend: Tibby is old enough to be getting married??

Our second reaction, once we realized that the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" star is actually 29 years old, was: Whoa there. Check out that yellow wedding dress.

Tamblyn married comedian David Cross in a outdoor ceremony in an undisclosed location this past weekend with high-profile pals like America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, Amy Poehler, Kristen Schaal and newlyweds Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in attendance. Questlove was also there, live-Instagramming pics of Amber in her long, form-fitting yellow wedding dress. (Side note: Questlove is really good at Instagram.)

A colorful dress for a wedding? Yup, it's a thing. Gwen Stefani married in a white-to-pink ombre gown back in 2002, but lately the trend for colored bridal gowns has resurfaced with Reese Witherspoon (light pink), Anne Hathaway (light pink) and Cynthia Nixon (vibrant green).

Even J-Woww, ever the conservative dresser, said she envisions herself in a pink wedding frock.

While white remains a mainstay, color isn't as rare as it used to be -- at least for celebrities. Amber's dress sure looked good on Instagram (filter: Rise), but we're still hesitant to embrace the trend ourselves. Check out Questlove's snaps from the Tamblyn-Cross wedding and tell us: would you were a non-white wedding dress?
