Joe Biden and Paul Ryan squared off Thursday evening in the one and only vice presidential debate in Danville, Ky.

The affair was a feisty one and pundits are split as to whether Biden's spicy performance -- marked by many interruptions of Ryan and a blinding grin -- will alienate independents or rally Democrats underwhelmed by President Obama's underwhelming showing in the first presidential debate last week.

While HuffPost readers (to date) have said that Biden won the night, Chicagoans' reactions over Twitter throughout the debate was more of a mixed bag -- though most viewers agreed that ABC's Martha Raddatz was a superior moderator when compared to Jim Lehrer. Romney and Obama will next go head-to-head in a town hall-style debate on Tuesday.
