Here at HuffPost Healthy Living, we make a big effort to stay in good shape. But just because you write about fitness for a living, doesn't make it any easier when your bed is warm and the park jog you promised yourself involves the bracing cold morning air. So how do we stay motivated?
Maybe part of it is writing stories about exercise's benefits, which are myriad. Not only is exercise a powerful preventive measure against heart disease, diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure, it also works to slow age-related cognitive decline and even makes you smarter and less stressed out.
And of course, we must admit, vanity plays a part: We work out to look good. Whether it's getting a little color in your complexion or losing a few pounds, exercise's visible benefits do not go unnoticed.
But it's one thing to know this -- and quite another to compel yourself to tie those sneakers when you'd rather be sleeping or turn down happy hour invitations for gym time. Want to know what we think about to power forward? Here it is, secrets from Team Healthy Living. Let us know how you motivate yourselves too!
