Chicago Shootings: 2 Teens Among 5 Killed, 25 Others Wounded In Weekend Gun Violence

At least five people, including two teens, were fatally shot -- and 25 others were wounded by gun violence -- between Friday evening and early Sunday in Chicago.

According to the Chicago Tribune, 17-year-old Richard Modell was the youngest fatal shooting victim.

Modell and an 18-year-old friend were walking in the 6300 block of South Rhodes Avenue in the city's West Woodlawn neighborhood around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when someone walked up to the males and opened fire. Modell, who police say is a member of an area feuding gang, was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital shortly after he was shot in the chest.

Community activist Andrew Holmes was at the scene after the shooting and told NBC Chicago that one of the targeted teens was possibly a Leo High School football player.

Another teen, an unidentified 18-year-old male, was fatally shot around 4:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of South Calumet, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Also among the weekend shooting fatalities in Chicago was 20-year-old Nawal Aysheh. Aysheh was shot in the head in what police say was a "domestic" incident inside her home on the 4800 block of West Wolfram in the city's Belmont Cragin neighborhood, according to the Tribune.

Another 25 people were wounded in shootings citywide since Friday evening.
