There are plenty of people unhappy with the fact that Rihanna appears to have gotten back together with Chris Brown -- and Jay-Z is one of them.
According to the British paper The Sun, Jay-Z has taken on the big brother role now that his protégé has made the questionable decision to reunite with Brown, who left her bloodied and bruised in 2009.
Rihanna and Brown were spotted attending one of Jay-Z's eight concerts together at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn earlier this month, and the rapper took the opportunity to have a little conversation with Brown.
The Sun reports that Hova invited them as a couple to his concert, and warned Brown that he would "finish him" if he ever hurts Rihanna again.
“Jay-Z told Rihanna that if Chris is truly making her happy then to go for it," a source told the paper. "He invited them as a couple to his concert in New York and backstage he called Chris to one side and told him if he hurts Rihanna, whether emotionally or physically, it’s over for him. He’ll ensure it will result in the end of his career."
The 42-year-old rapper hasn't hidden his distaste for Brown since he assaulted Rihanna three years ago. Jay-Z made his stance on Brown pretty clear at the 2011 MTV VMAs, when he refused to clap for the singer's performance.
But the change in Jay's attitude likely comes from trying to accept that Rihanna makes her own decisions about her love life. The 24-year-old recently told Vogue magazine:
“The world hasn’t let go," she said of the assault. "They haven’t seen any progress in our friendship, because they don’t see anything. But they’re not on the inside. They can’t see what I see, unless they’re sitting in my point of view. I guess I’ll learn to accept that.”
