Robert Pattinson may be trying to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart, but the "Twilight" hunk is enjoying his freedom while he can.

The actor, 26, was one of the only men to attend the Elle Women in Hollywood celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., last night (Oct. 15). RPatz was on hand to present an award to his "Bel Ami" co-star, Uma Thurman, who was one of the standout honorees of the night.

According to E! News, Pattinson, dressed in a gray suit and sporting his trademark messy hair, was extremely nervous while onstage, babbling, "I'm learning how to read tonight. I find this terrifying."

He went on to rave about Thurman, admitting the crew almost "s**t their pants" when she arrived on set, and adding, "and I did a little bit, as well."

Pattinson also joked about their romantic skills, confessing that his on-screen wife Thurman is "someone more intelligent, more charming, wittier and better in bed than me ... which," he added with a smile, "was obviously very difficult to cast."

"Rob, you're a real gentleman on and off the screen," Thurman gushed back as she accepted her award.

Although he skipped the red, or shall we say white, carpet, Pattinson did hang out after the event, chatting with his "Twilight" co-star Anna Kendrick and "Hart of Dixie's" Jaime King.

Cate Blanchett, Elle Fanning, Emma Watson, Kristen Wiig, Octavia Spencer, Sarah Jessica Parker, Shirley MacLaine and Susan Sarandon were also honored at the special event.
