'Extreme Cheapskates' Premiere: Kate Doesn't Use Toilet Paper, Serves Friends Meal From Trash (VIDEO)

'Extreme Cheapskates': Kate Serves Trash Meal To Friends

There's thrifty, and then there's "Extreme Cheapskates." Viewers were introduced to Kate on the series premiere, though the show's title may not fully do her justice. Kate proudly talked about how she hasn't bought clothes in eight years, and has never bough socks. He most recent underwear purchase was in 1998.

But that wasn't even the tip of the iceberg as far as ways Kate has found to save money. During the episode, she had some friends over, so she cooked them a meal. She threw together some old food she found in the trash, heating everything together into a stew. Her friends, though, were not all that impressed.

Her friend Matt said, "It just doesn't seem fresh to me," while her other friend Rose decided that the meal made her feel sick to her stomach.

But Kate's most shocking revelation had to do with her bathroom habits. "If I took a dump then I also grab the soap, wipe myself down with the soap and then I take the water, and I rinse off the soap," she said. Maybe it's time the people on "Extreme Couponing" teach the "Extreme Cheapskates" how to be thrifty but still take care of the essentials.

For more stories of thriftiness out of control, tune in to "Extreme Cheapskates" on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
