Tuesday night's energetic debate between President Obama and Republican Gov. Mitt Romney contained political fireworks viewers and voters hope to see set off during such a forum: a pugnacious challenger, feisty president, and a moderator with a bold, real time fact check.

Newspaper front pages captured the combative second round between Obama and Romney, highlighting the testy exchanges between the two candidates. While moderator Candy Crowley's live fact check towards the end of the debate dominated social media sites on Tuesday night, Wednesday morning papers focused on the battle between the two candidates.

The Boston Herald, however, kept its angle on Crowley. "Candy Land!" the daily's headline reads. "Crowley Lets Obama Skate On Libya Furor."

Crowley interrupted Romney after he doubled down on his assertion that Obama did not call the attack on the U.S. consulte in Benghazi an "act of terror" till days after the incident. In fact, Obama called the event an "act of terror" just one day following the event, when he spoke from the White House's Rose Garden.

Crowley's interjection caused the audience to applause and the president to yell, "Can you say that a little louder Candy?"
