Next Presidential Debate: Obama, Romney Will Meet For Final Event On Foreign Policy In Florida

Posted: Updated:

President Barack Obama and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney will meet for their third and final debate on Monday, October 22 at 9 p.m. ET. The event is being hosted by Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., and will be moderated by CBS News' Bob Schieffer.

While the previous two debates have focused primarily on domestic issues, the last event will be dedicated entirely to questions of foreign policy. The issue crested in mid-October, when Romney sharpened an attack on Obama's credibility on national security, charging that he had mismanaged and then misled in the wake of a terrorist attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya on Sept. 11. Romney and Obama also squared off on that question during the second debate, in an exchange that led debate moderator Candy Crawley to correct Romney on the exact wording Obama had used in an earlier address.

Obama was widely criticized for not being aggressive enough during the first debate in Denver, Colo., allowing Romney to score a decisive victory. A few weeks later, he tangled with Romney during a town hall debate, at which he was thought to have performed better, taking Romney to task on variety of issues. Who will come out on top later this month?
