'My Giant Face Tumor': Ed Port Says Children Look At Him Like He's A Monster (VIDEO)

Ed Port was 39 at the time of filming for "My Giant Face Tumor" on TLC. Now 42, he still suffers from Type 2 Neurofibromatosis, a disease which can lead to uncontrollable tumor growths, and for which there is no cure. For Port, the affliction struck the left side of his face. His mother first noticed it when he was an infant still, and the problem has only grown worse as the years have gone by.

Port has had several surgeries, but nothing has been able to stop the growth. He struggled not only with the damage the tumor is doing to his face, but also with people in his life. As a child, he was teased by the other children. Now, as an adult he said that children look at him like he's a monster.

At work, Port found the support he needed. His coworkers helped him raise $10,000 -- and the company matched it -- toward a potentially life-changing surgery. This surgery hoped to remove the tumor at the root and begin the process of putting Port's face back together.

By the end of the episode, Port looked and felt like a new man, with the support of his friends and coworkers by his side.
