Mark-Paul Gosselaar is headed to the premiere of "Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23." And while it would be easy for James Van Der Beek to be threatened by a fellow object of '90s affection, Van Der Beek insists that isn't the case.

"I've worked with [Mark-Paul Gosselaar] before," he told HuffPost TV of the "Saved By The Bell" star, who will also make a guest appearance on "Happy Endings." "He and I met through work. I was on 'Franklin & Bash,' and go figure, we had a lot of fun and became buddies. So I asked him to do this, and he jumped at it. He's got a really great sense of humor about the whole thing."

The Tuesday premiere of "Don't Trust The B" will also see star one of Van Der Beek's former "Dawson's Creek" co-stars, Busy Phillips.

"It was so great to see [Busy Phillips] again. I see her socially, but I hadn't worked with her in quite some time. But she crushed it! She's so funny," Van Der Beek added.

When asked if his "Don't Trust The B----" co-star Krysten Ritter had any similarities to her psychotic character Chloe, Van Der Beek laughed.

"They share a sweetness, and they share a ballsiness that I really admire," he said. "Krysten is no nonsense."

The Season 2 premiere of "Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23" airs on Tues., Oct. 23 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
