Teen Girl Scares Robbers Away From House: Cops

Hey, maybe she had cooties.

A trio of robbers in Texas allegedly turned and fled after stumbling upon a 14-year-old girl hiding in a closet, according to WFAA.

Oziel Valazquez, 18, Adolfo Villeda, 18, and Manuel Murillo, 17 were arrested on Tuesday after allegedly breaking into a house in Richland Hills.

The only person home at the time of the incident was a 14-year-old girl, whose name has not been released. The girl told investigators that she saw two men knock on the door but, since she didn't recognize them, didn't answer.

The men then allegedly went around to the back door, kicked it in, and entered the house, CBS DFW reports. The girl ran to hide in a closet.

Police say the men began to go through the house, stealing various electronics, including iPods and an iPhone. As they searched for more valuables, they reportedly opened the closet door and saw the teenage girl hiding inside.

The trio turned and fled, and the girl called 911, officials say. Officers were then able to use an iPhone app to locate the position of the stolen phone, which ultimately led them to the suspects.

The three suspects were charged with burglary of a habitation and are being held on bonds of $30,000 apiece.

The girl in this incident wasn't the only young person to thwart intruders this month. Last week, a 12-year-old in Oklahoma used her family's gun to shoot and injure an alleged home invader.
