The Shelevator: Inventor Shlomo Shwartz Creates An Inexpensive Elevator Shelving Unit (VIDEO)

The Shelevator: For All Your Out-Of-Reach Needs

If you have a fear of heights, this may be the perfect product for you.

Canadian inventor Shlomo Shwartz has created the Shelevator, an alternative to climbing on a stool or more dangerously, your kitchen counter, for out-of-reach items.

Basically, you place your belongings into a box that slides in and out of your upper cabinet with the pull of a rod. The box then lowers via a pulley and your plates, glasses and other stored goods are magically at your level.

Schwartz came up with this idea after seeing his own mother struggling to reach something. He is currently looking for funding for his product but it may take a while considering there is a similar and seemingly safer product on the market called Rev-A-Shelf. However, if you’re looking for a cheap alternative, Shelevator may just fit your needs as he is selling DIY kids on eBay for $39.99.

Watch the video above to see how the Shelevator works. Hats off to Gizmodo for this find.
